Lifelong educator, teacher, and trainer that has progressively moved through all facets of education over my 20 year career. Strong emphasis on educational technology, in particular game-based learning (GBL) and gamification.
National leader in emerging technologies in teaching and learning, particularly gamification, augmented reality, and virtual reality. Published 30 articles, books, and OER resources, and digital game experiences. Secured over $7 M in public and private funding for STEM education and game-based learning via competitive national grants.
My work has resulted in over 30 publications that showcase the effectiveness of GBL - specifically on motivation, engagement, and subject matter retention. Simply put, courses and training modules are proven to increase motivation, engagement, and effectiveness when GBL techniques are integrated properly.
